First of Autumn

Happy first day of fall, my dears!

Early this morning everything was covered in thick fog - I could only see to the street corner.  It made a fittingly cozy and cup-of-hot-tea worthy atmosphere...

Well, I can think of very little to say about autumn that I didn't say in my September post.  I'm not waxing poetical this morning.... I was going to find a lovely little poem about fall and stick it here.  But after searching for half an hour, my very particular self couldn't find anything good enough.  My readers deserve the best, so, like Kate in The Taming of the Shrew, they don't get anything if I can't find the best. :p

I shall conclude this post by finishing my dump of autumn paintings upon you and bestowing an Enya song upon your ears which just happens to have the same title as this post.

The above painting reminds me of my former home in Virginia.  *sniff*  It was so  breathtakingly beautiful there between now and late October... you couldn't see the road at all, it was so covered in leaves.  I miss it, a lot.

Okay... have a lovely day/night whatever it is where you are!  And tell me: what do you love best about autumn?  Is there a poem that you know of which describes the season perfectly?

  1. I love the pictures. And I also love the Enya music! On another blog I was reading today, someone posted a poem about Autumn but Henry Wadsworth Longfellow I think it was. You can probably google the poem if you're interested in it.

  2. What a lovely and charming blog! It's a garden in the wilderness.

  3. Thank you very much indeed, Mrs. Dunkle! I'm quite flattered. :)

  4. Your blog is very, very beautiful, Victoria! Thank you.

  5. I followed you over when you commented on my blog. :) And yay! A Fall post! Oh I love Fall! And I forgot about Enya... O.o I will have to look some more of her up again. Lovely blog btw. :)

  6. Matterhorn - thank you!

Mary - Ooh, don't forget about Enya. :) I seem to be a bit....obsessed with her music lately. Just a bit.
Isn't fall awesome?? Today's cold here, so I'm wearing a thick cozy sweater and loving it. Thanks for following me!

Your comments make my day! I read every single one of them, and I'll usually check out my commenters' blogs, if I don't follow them already. I try to reply to my comments, but please don't be offended if I don't make it to yours. Procrastination habits do extend to comment replies, unfortunately.

Of course, courtesy is necessary. I will delete any comments which do not meet my requirements.

Thanks for making the effort to tell me your thoughts!
