Days 10 - 12

I did three days of this tonight, hoping to catch up a bit.  I was away for Thanksgiving last week, so I do have some excuse.

Oh yes, and I'm afraid I just kind of skipped Day 9, which was supposed to be a favorite TV show.  I don't happen to watch TV, so I had no idea what I could do for it.

Now.  Day 10 - Favorite Candy.

Oh yes.

Snickers are awesome.  Enough said.

Day 11 -Draw a turning point in your life.

I had trouble with this one.  On the one hand, I guess you could say I've had a lot of turning points; and on the other hand I don't seem to be able to find anything particularly prominent.  I think I generally change rather gradually.  I don't have novelistic climaxes.  Yes, I'm boring.
Anyway, so I decided to do a sketch of the Dominican nuns who came and did a presentation at our church and reawakened my thoughts about religious life.  So yes, it's pretty important.

And of course the picture would have to come out looking like a ten-year-old-me drew it.  -_-  But you get the idea.

Day 12  - a recent accomplishment

My most recent accomplishment was finishing French I.  I doubt that you want to see a picture of me taking my final test, though, so I drew the Eiffel Tower instead.  It is one of the best-known symbols of everything French, after all!

Day 8

I enjoyed the Day 8 challenge: favorite animated character.

For once, this "favorite" is actually a real favorite.  I admit it, I love Tangled.  It makes me feel immature to say it, but it's...just...good.  It's so sweet and romantic and funny and cool and..... well, I think you get the idea.  Specially since you've probably already seen it.

Colored version is much better, no?

Oh - and here's the colored version of my drawing of Kate Winslow from the Day 7 challenge.  I just used the "doodle" function on Picnik.  It's rather pretty, if I do say so myself. :)

Day 7

Er....hi.  Remember me?  I'm the one who procrastinates.

So, today I'm on Day Seven, which is supposed to be my favorite word.  Now, personally, I don't see how you could possibly pick one favorite word.  There are so many beautiful words, especially if you just limit it to English. :)

I picked two words, and once again I cheated by using Picnik.  I honestly tried to write them out by hand, but I have messy handwriting and I got too frustrated.

My first encompasses every word ever made:

Genius, huh?

"Lovely" is a word that I use very often, if you haven't noticed.

I spent a bit more time on this one, because I wanted it to personify its word.  I made it that sea-green because it's my favorite color, I added flowers because they're very lovely, and I used fleur-de-lis because they're a symbol of Our Lady, who is, of course, loveliness itself.

Day 6

I apologize for getting so behind in this.  I feel really bad....I just haven't gotten around to it, and this weekend will be busy for me, too.

So, anyway, I did get day six [favorite character] done, and it came out pretty well. :) I actually found a character that doesn't have a movie!  Kate Winslow, from the lovely Hollow Kingdom trilogy.

It came out rather well, if I do say so myself. :p

Now, I can't end this post without mentioning that I KNOW MRS. CLARE DUNKLE, who wrote the trilogy.  I'm very, very proud of that.  And she gave me The Hollow Kingdom when it was first published.  :)

Days 4 & 5

I was so sure that I would post day 4 yesterday....but the challenge is quite hard, and I couldn't make up my mind.

Because I couldn't decide, I'm doing something a little different for Day 4.  (Read: I'm cheating for Day 4.)  My mom suggested that I do a pastel drawing, but I sort of ran out of time.  I may draw one anyway, and post it another day.
Anyway.
There are so many places that I love!  My dad's in the army, so I've been all over...not to brag or anything.  And nearly every single place has something to make me love it.  So, I shall just post some pictures of my favorite places.  (This is also easier for me because I am in no way a landscape artist.)

Photograph by me
1. A book.  Yes, books count as places.  Don't argue with me.  If you're an avid reader, you know that books can take you anywhere, anytime.
(This photo is supremely ironic, because the book pictured is actually a textbook.  I dislike textbooks, and the only place they take me is...nevermind.)

2.    A church.  You can't imagine anything more peaceful than making your thanksgiving after Mass, when most of the people have left and you can concentrate on Our Lord right there in the tabernacle.

3.  The state of Virginia.

4.  Switzerland.  Yes, I have been there. *insert grin of triumph*  It's seriously one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen...I wish I had a photo that we had taken.  Unfortunately when we went I was too small to have my own camera.  Anway, it's lovely.  We camped there multiple times, and it was always my favorite: better than Italy, better than Spain, even better than France.

Well, I think that's enough for Day 4. :p

Now on to Day 5: Best Friend.  I have two best friends, so I drew them both.

I don't know if they'd want their names up, so they shall remain nameless, for now at least.  The one on the left is a beautiful example of a Catholic and is ever so sweet.  The one on the right has put up with me for almost three years now, and we have shared many a problem and *cough* daydream.  She's very patient with my strangeness, and her common sense has often supplemented my lack thereof.

HOPEFULLY I shall see you all tomorrow for Day 6!
